Our goal and motivation to work in the field of science and research is to fascinate people about science, to broaden their knowledge and enable them to put it into practice.
The teaching of Real Estate Studies (Management, Finance and Economics) at the RWTH Aachen University is interdisciplinarily and practically oriented. Our courses address engineers, economists, architects, urban planners and geographers. We use classical (lectures, tutorials or seminars) as well as modern learning methods (project module, special didactic forms or eTest in L2P).
The real estate team of the RWTH Aachen University understands the research and the teaching in Real Estate Studies (Management, Finance and Economics) as an entity which derives its foundation, claim and content from theory as well as from empirics. Our research is mainly quantitative and focuses on following research topics:
- natural risk and real estate
- sustainable real estate (beyond green)
- infrastructure economics
- direct and indirect investment vehicles (REIT, REOC, funds, and crowd funding)
- real estate returns, indices, and derivatives
- asset pricing and bubbles
